Matt Wagner has been working in comics for 20 years. His first published story in Comico Primer #2, would introduce one of the characters he would forever be known for- Grendel. On top of multiple Grendel series Wagner wrote and illustrated two crossovers between Batman and Grendel. Early in his career Wagner would also introduce another character that would be a fan favourite- Mage. Both characters have recently celebrated their 25th anniversaries.
Outside of his own projects Wagner has worked extensively for DC. Wagner did the critically received story Faces for Batman: Legend of the Dark Knight, two Batman mini series, The Demon, a five year stint working on Sandman Mystery Theatre, cover artist for Batman and Green Arrow and a three issue prestige book called Trinity, featuring DC’s big three- Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Currently he is writing Madame Xanadu.
