The Calgary Expo is proud to welcome Malcolm McDowell as the Horror Guest of Honor! From Clockwork Orange, Tank Girl, Heroes, Halloween, and the man who killed Captain Kirk! In celebration of the upcoming 30th anniversary of A Clockwork Orange, we'll also be presenting a special screening of the film with an intro from Malcolm himself! Details to follow!
Malcolm McDowell is an English actor whose career has spanned more than forty years in film and television. He's screen debut was in the film If..., which caught the attention of director Stanly Kubrick. He was then cast in the lead role of the cult favorite film, A Clockwork Orange, a darkly satirical and surreal science fiction film adaptation of Anthony Burgess's 1962 novel. Clockwork Orange was also the first movie to use the Dolby Sound system. Malcom was nominated for a Golden Globe for Clockwork Orange.
Other notable film roles include; O Lucky Man!, Time after Time, Tank Girl, and for all the Star Trek fans out there, he's known as "The Man Who Killed Captain Kirk" in Star Trek: Generations as the villain Dr. Tolian Soran.
Malcolm appeared as the main protaganist, Dr. Sam Loomis in Rob Zombie's remake of the box office smash hit horror film Halloween and its sequel Halloween II.
On television, Malcolm's had some great roles too, such as the main villain in season 1 of Heroes as Mr. Linderman, Terrence McQuewick on Entourage, and Julian Hodge on Monk.
Malcolm has also lend his voice acting talents to animation and video games. He plays Metallo in the animated Superman series, Mad Mod in the Teen Titans series, and Vater Orlaag in Metalocalypse. He provided his voice as the green eyed man, Dr. Calico in Disney's Bolt, as well as guest spots as the Death Star Commander in Robot Chicken and South Park.
As a special treat, we're also presenting a special screening of A Clockwork Orange in celebtration of its upcoming 30th anniversary! Malcolm will be there in person for an intro on the film. Details to follow!
