Jeffrey Brown is a comic book writer and artist born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At the age of 25 Brown moved to pursue an MFA at the School of the Art Institute. By the time he finished his studies, he had abandoned painting and started drawing comics seriously. His first self-published book, Clumsy, was a hit both amongst comic fans and creators. His work is a mix between auto-biographical tales such as Clumsy, Little Things, and Funny Misshapen Body, and over-the-top, humorous fiction like The Incredible Changebots, and the ongoing Sulk series of comics.
In addition to appearing in McSweeney’s and America’s Best Comics, Brown created a short animated music video for the popular band Death Cab For Cutie and did the movie poster for the 2010 feature-length documentary, Rabbit Fever. He won an Ignatz Award in 2003 in the category of Outstanding Mini-Comic, for I Am Going To Be Small.
