At the age of twenty, Gerald Brom began working full-time as a commercial illustrator. He started off doing work for clients including Coca-Cola, IBM, Columbia Pictures and CNN. He was hired full-time by TSR, Inc. at the age of 24, and worked there for four years illustrating various Dungeons and Dragons projects before returning to freelance.

Since then Brom has been doing illustration work for many different realms of entertainment. He’s worked for novels (Michael Moorcock, Terry Brooks, R.A.Salvatore, E.R. Burroughs), Role-playing (TSR, White Wolf, WOTC), comics (DC, Chaos, Dark Horse), Games (Doom2, Heretic, Diablo2, World of Warcraft), and film (Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow, Galaxy Quest, Ghosts of Mars, Scooby Doo, Van Helsing).
Brom has published two art books, Darkwerks and Offerings. He has also illustrated three of his own novels. One, The Plucker, has received numerous nominations and was awarded a Chesley.
