See Star Wars actor Billy Dee Williams at the Calgary Expo this year!
Actor Billy Dee Williams, best known to fans as General Lando Calrissian from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. He's also reprised his role in other Star Wars projects and video games, as well as GDI Director Redmon Boyle in the game Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. He portrayed district attorney Harvey Dent in the 1989 Tim Burton Batman film.
Born William December Williams Jr. he grew up in Harlem, where his maternal grandmother raised him while his parents worked at several jobs. He eventually graduated from Manhattan's School of Performing Arts.
He has appeared in several Broadway productions, including “The Firebrand of Florence,” “The Cool Word,” “A Taste of Honey,” and “I Have a Dream,” which starred Williams as Martin Luther King, Jr. On the screen he starred in The Last Angry Man, Brian's Song, Lady Sings the Blues and Mahogany as well as filling the role of Harvey Dent in 1989's Batman.
In the late 1980s, he returned to an earlier passion: painting. He has had solo exhibitions in various galleries around the U.S., and his work hangs in the National Portrait Gallery, The Smithsonian Institution, and The Schomburg Museum.
Billy has made guest appearances on pop cutlure shows such as Lost, Robot Chicken, That 70's Show, In Living Color, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Mind of Mencia, Scrubs, the Jeffersons, and Fanboys. He was also a cast member in Dynasty as Brady Lloyd, and General Hospital: Night Shift as Toussaint Dubois.
