George Takei
“Oh my!”
Veteran actor George Takei is best known to sci-fi fans for his role as helmsman Hikaru Sulu on the original Star Trek television show and beloved by modern comic fans as Hiro’s father, Kaito Nakamura, on the smash hit show Heroes. But earlier in his career he starred along side such stars as Richard Burton (Ice Palace), Cary Grant (Walk Don’t Run) and John Wayne (The Green Berets) before meeting Gene Roddenberry and getting cast as Sulu. The eventual success of the series provided continuous role reprisals for Takei in several Star Trek films, video games, cartoons and subsequent live action series’ such as Voyager.
Takei has also appeared (often as himself) on numerous television shows such as General Hospital, 3rd Rock From The Sun, Malcolm in the Middle, Space Cases, Scrubs, Will & Grace and Psych as well as providing voiceovers on such animated features like Mulan, Futurama, Kim Possible, The Simpsons, Disney’s Hercules, Batman Beyond: The Movie and Avatar.
