David Petersen
Creator of the popular independent series Mouse Guard (published by Archaia Studios), David Petersen’s biggest artistic influences include Mike Mignola and Frank Miller, although he confesses that his art style looks nothing like theirs!
David was born in 1977, and his artistic career soon followed. A steady diet of cartoons, comics, and tree climbing fed his imagination and still inspires his work today. He earned his BFA in Printmaking from Eastern Michigan University, and currently resides in Michigan with his wife, Julia, and their two dogs.
His work on Mouse Guard earned him numerous awards and honors, including 2007 Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award, Wizard’s Best Adventure (Indie Buzz #183), Canada’s Metro News Best Mini-Series of 2006, IGN.com’s Best Indie Book of the Year, Broken Frontier’s Best Artist - Independent, and many more!
